Health Care Overhaul Nuclear Option Bomb?

The American People in resounding numbers are saying “NO” to Obamacare. Yet, the politicians in Washington are for some inane reason, trying to sneak it past us anyway. The Obama Administration is looking hard at pushing through this health care reform bill without the Republican backing.
The Democratic majority in the Senate has been stymied in the health care debate by the Republicans and conservative Democrats, which leaves them short of the 60 vote filibuster proof margin need to pass this monster. However, the Democratic success of pushing this through could depend on an obscure tactic called reconciliation. A type of budget maneuver that requires only a simple majority of 51 votes to pass.
While this could be risky for the Democrats not only because they couldn’t raise the votes, but because the Republicans could cast this as a power play while failing to win bipartisan support.
It may be a fight they are willing to enter, “If we have to push it through this way, no one is going to remember how messy it was”, a top White House adviser told CNN.“At the end of the day, they’ll remember we got health care reform done. A win is a win”.
Oh, really? Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-IA) said Obama is so focused on health care reform that he’s willing to stake his presidency on it. After a town hall meeting in Iowa recently, Boswell quoted Obama as follows:
The President said,” I’m not going to kick the can down the road.” Boswell responded, “Well, that’s something I’m kind of use to from Southern Iowa, you know. I know about kicking the can down the road.” Obama responded, “No, if it makes me a one-term President, I’m going to, we’re going to take it on because the country is in need of us taking this one on. “
And he just might be one term President if they use the 51 vote strategy. While they are out to destroy private insurance and health savings accounts, they are dead serious about this push regardless of the desires of the American people – this is their plan and strategy.
Obama , the Unions such as SEIU and AFL-CIO, and the progressive radical socialist Democrat Party are out to destroy jobs, wreck the US economy and kill the American dream by proposing a health care reform bill with the goal of establishing a single payer government monopoly over health care. Both the public option and the co-ops are two ways of accomplishing this goal over time. This is financially irresponsible and immoral. The vast majority of American people like their own health care insurance plans.
Howard Dean has gone on to reveal a more cynical Democratic strategy which would obviate the co-op charade. Dean told MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough that the Senates removal of the public option is a ploy to get the bill through the Senate and then have the public option reinserted at the reconciliation stage, where it would require 50 votes, not a super majority. Dean admitted that “the President knows very well that you aren’t really going to have health care reform without a public option. But, he also knows he has to get this out of the Senate.”
To heck with the American people, they plan of shoving this down our throats. And, as soon as something passes the narrative will switch to how amazing it was that Obama actually pulled off health care reform, something that has be bedeviled politicians for ages and even stymied the Clinton administration. At that point, the fact that there was opposition of the left and the right will make the success seem so much more impressive, as will the fact this administration has been active on so many fronts at once. With no bill, it looks like a failure. So, you can be sure on the part of this administration they’ll do anything to be sure to make something pass.
The vast majority of Americans no longer believe or trust Obama. Only the American people can stop these immoral bandits in Washington.
