Should free speech be just that?

Freedom of speech is under attack…….well, that is “conservative speech”.
Email provider Comcast, has informed us that some central email security software is blocking all emails sent with this website’s URL link in the body of the e mail. After lengthy discussions and highlighting they may be violating Constitutional rights to free speech, they referred us to the FCC.
This email link block is Comcast wide. We are going after this suppression of free speech.
Freedom of Speech today has very pronounced limitation which are more restrictive than most people realize. Americans more so than anywhere else in the world have enjoyed the freedom to express ideas and opinions without fear of reprisal………until recently.
We’ve been sucker punched. The unifier, great post racial, post American President has adopted the street tactics of the Chicago thug politics. We’ve watched and read about ACORN/SEIU goons beating up decent American citizens at this summer’s town hall meetings and other peacefully organized demonstration across this great land.
SEIU Union thugs beat up Randy Arthur at F-DM Congresswomen Kathy Castor’s town hall meeting in Tampa on August 6th. Her union representatives shut the doors to prevent the opposing opinions from being heard. Fifteen hundred people were there, but they would not let them in the front door. Only 75 people were allowed in, this was after her stage was set with the ACORN and Union people already seated after they were quietly ushered in through the back door. Castor wouldn’t take any questions from the group of 75, claiming she “couldn’t hear”.
And in Missouri, over 1000 St. Louis Tea Party taxpayers showed up to attend the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting in South St. Louis….they too were locked out. While Carnahan’s staff was sneaking members of the SEIU in the side door which was marked “handicapped” (maybe appropriate). Just two examples….but remember, Obama paid out at least $2.25 million to the SEIU, the nation’s largest labor union. And, SEIU COPE-PAC spent $13,355,389. to get Obama elected. SEIU paid for door to door canvassing for Obama, voter identification and registration and of course…..the illustrious phone banks.
These are the same thugs who attacked free citizens.
Who would have thought the day would come when American diplomat’s would take this suppression a step further and join with human right abusers from places like Cuba and China? Places where free speech doesn’t exist….all to join and pass a new resolution limiting free speech? But now it’s happening not only here, but internationally. The Obama administration did it all in the name of “making friends” in the international community. Sounds more like throwing our basic rights under the bus to promote international relations with tyrants.
The Obama administration has marked its first foray into the UN Human Rights establishment by backing calls for limits on freedom of expression. This newly minted American policy was announced at the latest session of the UN Human Rights Council. American diplomats were there for the first time as full Council members and very intent on continuing the apology tour and making “international” friends. Obama even chose to join the Council despite the fact that the Organization of the Islamic Conference holds the balance of power and human rights abusers are amongst the lead players . This includes China, Cuba and Saudi Arabia. It has been reported the Islamic States quickly interpreted Obama’s penchant for “engagement” meant fundamental rights are now up for grabs. Who could have ever predicted the shift would begin with America’s most treasured freedom?
A clear example of throwing our basic rights under the bus all in pretense of international relations with tyrants. But, then again I’m not sure they view Mao Tse Tung, Chavez, Castro and the likes as tyrants. Haven’t we recently heard Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director embrace Mao…and FCC Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd praise Chavez?
This new resolution has a number of disturbing elements. It emphasizes that “the exercise of the right to freedom of expression carries with it special duties and responsibilities….”, which include taking action against anything meeting the description of “negative racial and religious stereotyping”. It also purports to recognize the “moral and social responsibilities of the media” and supports “the media’s elaboration of voluntary codes of professional ethical conduct”. All in relation to combating racism, racial discrimination and related intolerances.
While this may not sound so bad since most American’s are not in favor of racism or discrimination or any other sort of hatred. The problems exists in the practical application and definition of these topics. But it seems anyone who disagrees with the Obama mindset is labeled a “racist”. How about Jimmy Carter suggesting that Rep. Joe Wilson was motivated by racism when he called Obama a liar? Why be reasonable and examine what Joe Wilson was so upset about……illegal’s being included in the health care..which by the way, proved to be the truth soon after. How much did we hear about this? Or, Nancy Pelosi considering the Tea Party movement to be racist. And, an Obama spokesman accusing town hall protestors of being so racist they dressed up like Hitler.
If we are to apply the standard the Obama administration just helped pass through the United Nations, Wilson and all the patriot Tea Party/Town Hall protestors/9-12 Marchers could be silenced forever. As any controversial political speech. Once your labeled a racist or bigot, according to this it’s ok to have your speech silenced. Think about it…opposed to illegal immigration, you’re a racist. Do you think sexual orientation is the right of the parents and not the educators….bigot. And this goes a step further including the internet. Rockefeller has already introduced legislation to control the internet. Seems to me, it’s already started.
Should free speech be just that….free speech? Not censored speech or speech which appeals to whomever is in the White House. It’s not about what is popular or widely condoned for the moment. If we are to ban speech regardless of what some may deem to be hateful or bigoted, we will do so at our own peril. It all changes with whomever is in charge of the defining.
If you look at Barack Obama and his track record as a politician, he likes to clear the playing field. He doesn’t like debating his opponents. He just wants to get rid of them….including his good friend Alice Palmer.
His FCC Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd comes from a fringe radical, Saul Alinsky background. The actions he is proposing are simply Un-American.
Freedom of speech, either good or bad is the cornerstone of our republic. Destroy this and you destroy the very foundation this great country was built upon.
