The Three Broadcast Networks have failed to report on the great and growing ClimateGate Scandal
December 5, 2009 By Shari M
There are several stories about ClimateGate. I am getting the best info out there, as the MSM is still not covering the story.
Former Vice President Al Gore on Thursday abruptly canceled a Dec. 16 personal appearance that was to be staged during the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, which begins next week. Berlingkse Media, a Danish group coordinating ticket sales and publicity for the event, said that “great annoyance” was a factor in the cancellation, along with unforeseen changes in Mr. Gore’s program for the climate summit. The decision affected 3,000 ticket holders. The ClimateDepot.com, an online news aggregator that tracks global-warming news reports, referred to the situation as “Nopenhagen,” and evidence that popular momentum for the Copenhagen conference “is fading.” Pajamas Media founder Roger L. Simon and independent filmmaker Lionel Chetwynd — both members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Oscar nominees — have called on the academy to rescind Mr. Gore’s Oscars in light of the Climategate revelations. “In the history of the academy, not to my knowledge has an Oscar ever been rescinded. I think they should rescind this one,” Mr. Simon said. The film version of Mr. Gore’s book “An Inconvenient Truth” won two Oscars in 2007 — for Best Documentary Feature and Best Original Song… http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/dec/03/gore-cancels-personal-appearance-copenhagen/

For the fourteenth straight day, the three broadcast networks have failed to report on the great and growing ClimateGate scandal on their weekday morning or evening news programs. How to explain this? Perhaps it is that ABC, NBC and CBS have not yet heard of the story, despite two weeks of non-stop reporting on and discussion of ClimateGate in a whole host of media outlets. Perhaps the broadcast networks only trust their fellow liberal press outlets, like the New York Times. Perhaps they don’t realize the Times exhibited journalistic diligence on ClimateGate, with a front page story the day the story broke. In the event that ABC News, NBC News and CBS News missed the news, the Media Research Center (MRC) is today rushing each of them a copy of the Times story, in the hopes that armed with this new information, they will finally report a story that has been roiling nearly everywhere else for a fortnight… http://mrc.org/press/releases/2009/20091204124643.aspx

Obama on Friday abruptly altered the timing of his upcoming appearance at an international climate summit in Copenhagen. The move means Obama will be at the summit on Dec. 18, considered a crucial period when more leaders will be in attendance, as opposed to his scheduled stop in Denmark on Wednesday on his way to Nobel Peace Prize events in Oslo. It also means that Obama will be squeezing in a separate, 10th foreign trip before Christmas – a record pace of travel for a first-year president – as a means to giving momentum to a deal aimed at combatting global warming. With the U.S., India and China all with specific proposals on the table for the first time, a political agreement seems more likely. The change in Obama’s travel plans is a political calculation meant to produce the most possible gain at the summit. Obama has promised aggressive leadership on climate change, so much that it helped win him a surprising Nobel Peace Prize. Going to Copenhagen during the second week of the summit is the president putting “a little more skin in the game,” said MIT management professor John Sterman, an expert in modeling potential greenhouse gas pollution reductions. “The closer to the end of it that he attends, the more he’s connected to whatever the outcome is. For the U.S. to achieve the target it proposes Congress will have to pass legislation to curb greenhouse gases blamed for global warming. The Senate has said it will not take up the measure until next year… http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091204/ap_on_bi_ge/obama_climate_5

SO, THIS IS HOW CONGRESS WANTS TO DEAL WITH THE BIGGEST FRAUD EVER COMMITTED – LET’S MAKE THE WHISTLEBLOWER THE CRIMINAL INSTEAD OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN COMMITTED FRAUD. Leaked e-mails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday afternoon. Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a crime. “You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,’” she said during a committee meeting. “Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I’m looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public.” The e-mails, from scientists at the University of East Anglia, were obtained through hacking. The messages showed the director of the university’s Climate Research Unit discussing ways to strengthen the unit’s case for global warming. Climate change skeptics have seized on the e-mails, arguing that they demonstrate manipulation in environmental science. Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter as its top Republican, Sen. James Inhofe (Okla.), has asked for, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings. “We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not,” Boxer said. “Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated. “This is a crime,”(referring to the hacking) Boxer said… http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/70249-boxer-hacked-climategate-emails-may-face-criminal-probe

THE OTHER PLAN IS TO PUSH IT THROUGH FASTER NOW THAT THE FRAUD HAS BEEN EXPOSED. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said last night that the U.S. was moving too slowly to confront climate change. The Massachusetts Democrat also said he expected the climate conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, to result in a political agreement with binding emissions reductions. “We’re making decisions too slowly,” Kerry told PBS’s Charlie Rose. “We are not grappling with the big choices that we face. “We have to decide what Americans are going to produce and how we’re going to create the jobs of the future. And if we approach it the way we’ve been approaching climate change and these other issues, we are going to be way behind these other countries,” he continued. Speaking of the international climate change conference in Copenhagen next week, Kerry said he expects countries to reach binding conclusions. “I believe that Copenhagen will come out with a political agreement that will have binding mandatory reductions that people will agree to,” Kerry said. “I believe it will come up with a prompt start to those reductions at the beginning of next year or so. “That political agreement would have to be translated into treaty language in the months following the conference… http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/70699-kerry-says-us-moving-too-slowly-on-climate-change

Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) sent a letter to the president late last week warning Obama against agreeing to any binding climate change agreement during a conference in Copenhagen, Denmark this month. “I would like to express my concern regarding reports that the Administration may believe it has the unilateral power to commit the government of the United States to certain standards that may be agreed upon at the upcoming [conference],” Webb wrote to Obama. “Although details have not been made available, recent statements by Special Envoy on Climate Change Todd Stern indicate that negotiators may be intending to commit the United States to a nationwide emission reduction program,” Webb added. “As you well know from your time in the Senate, only specific legislation agreed upon in the Congress, or a treaty ratified by the Senate, could actually create such a commitment on behalf of our country. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/69957-webb-warns-obama-on-copenhagen-trip

The U.N.’s decision this week to investigate whether some of its climate change research had been manipulated constitutes a “direct rebuke” of the Obama administration, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Friday. The White House’s unwillingness to open a similar inquiry could now only be characterized as “a sad abdication of their responsibility to ensure that U.S. policies are not driven by corrupted science and data,” the congressman added. “The very integrity of the report that the Obama administration has predicated much of its climate change policy has been called into question and it is unconscionable that this administration and Congress is willing to abdicate responsibility of uncovering the truth to the United Nations,” explained Issa, the ranking member on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The U.N. announced it would probe that data this week, mostly because some of the research in question touches on related work either completed or promoted by its own Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)… http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/70653-rep-issa-white-house-refusal-to-investigate-climategate-is-unconscionable-

EVEN NASA IS INVOLVED IN THE FRAUD. It seems that NASA’s James Hansen, head of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), is at it again. He just can’t let the data speak for itself. In yet another egregious display of Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) arrogance, he changed the temperature data from 1910-2008 to reflect what is clearly a cooling trend to reflect a warming trend. Junk in = Junk out. Indeed this past year (2008) is set to be the coolest since 2000, according to a preliminary estimate of global average temperature that is due to be released this month by the Met Office’s Hadley Centre in Great Britain. One major glitch in the reporting of temperatures has been quietly forgotten by the Met and others of AGW persuasion as documented here…. When the Soviet Union fell in 1990 the number of reporting weather stations around the world declined from a high of 15,000 in 1970 to 5,000 in 2000, no appropriate compensatory weighting mechanism was thereafter applied. Such an absence critically skews everything thereafter to the warmer side of things, since it takes some of the coldest places on the planet (like Siberia) out of the equation. With that absence, it’s likely getting colder than we now know. How convenient! Said Geophysicist Dr. David Deming, associate professor of arts and sciences at the University of Oklahoma who has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles: “Environmental extremists and global warming alarmists are in denial and running for cover…. To the extent global warming was ever valid, it is now officially over. It is time to file this theory in the dustbin of history, next to Aristotelean physics, Neptunism, the geocentric universe, phlogiston, and a plethora of other incorrect scientific theories, all of which had vocal and dogmatic supporters who cited incontrovertible evidence. Weather and climate change are natural processes beyond human control. To argue otherwise is to deny the factual evidence.” http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/01/global_warmmongering_more_silk.html

BILL AYERS didn’t like the plan to send more troops to Afghanistan. This video is from an anti-war demonstration Ayers recently attended in Chicago. “This is an absolute tragedy for the people of the Middle East, for Afghanistan, and for us, and I think everybody has to take a moment right now and stand up in opposition to this war,” Ayers says. He sounds “as steamed up against Obama as he used to feel about President Richard Nixon.” http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1209/Ayers_on_Afghanistan.html

The United States Senate Judiciary Committee just voted along party lines, 12-7, to send the nomination of liberal activist Judge Louis B. Butler Jr. to the floor of the Senate. The Democrats did so, according to friends inside the room, in a disrespectful manner talking over Republicans who wished to voice their disapproval and tried to – heaven forbid in the U.S. Senate – actually debate the nominee. I am told Schumer and Whitehouse were on their cell phones, and a number of Democrat Senators were talking loudly during the limited debate they even allowed. This is the latest of an increasingly distinguished line of completely-out-of-the-mainstream, leftists who have absolutely no respect for, much less use for, the Constitution. If it weren’t so damaging to our nation’s well being, it would almost be comical how uniquely unqualified and crazy these nominees are. Following on the heels of the nomination of admitted leftist and activist Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, someone who was overturned repeatedly, who believes judges make law, who holds sexist views and who has decided cases based on race, and then, David Hamilton, who was nominated for the 7th Circuit – someone who raised money for ACORN, who worked for ACLU, who blocked parental consent laws and who was soft on the worst of our criminals. NOW comes Louis Butler, Jr. for a Federal District Court slot in the Western District of Wisconsin. He is a nominee with a long track record of liberalism and activism. Judge Butler was rejected by voters not once, but TWICE, for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Butler believes judges should base their decisions not on the law, but on their personal beliefs and policy preferences, having said, “the background, personal beliefs and policy decisions of the justices selected will influence how they vote on the difficult cases before them. And that is the main reason I support Senator Obama. In his brief tenure on the Supreme Court (he was appointed by a Democrat Governor given his inability to get elected), Butler distinguished himself by overturning the will of the people when he voted to strike down medical liability limits – and he earned the nickname “Loophole Louis” for his noted soft-on-crime stances, as documented in this Wall Street Journal editorial. It is indeed a new day in America, and “change” is in the air. That change will be most notable in an Obama-planted activist judiciary ripping away what little grip the American people still have on this little democratic experiment… http://www.redstate.com/hogan/2009/12/03/butler-the-latest-leftist-obama-judicial-nominee-pushed-by-disrespectful-democrat-senators/

This past March, Heather Heidelbaugh, a Pennsylvania Attorney, testified before Congress man Jerrold Nadler’s Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties subcommittee about the fraud perpetuated by ACORN. Her testimony alleged violations of the election code, fraud and misrepresentation, and violations of equal protection and due process. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) was shocked at the testimony and called for a probe of the Democrat’s favorite tax fraud group but Nadler’s response was to stonewall. Actually what he said is that he would investigate ACORN once he saw some evidence show that a probe was warranted. When the Congress voted to cut off funds to ACORN not only did Congressman Nadler vote against the resolution, but make speeches against cutting off the funds saying the congressional action a “bill of attainder,” or an unfair, punitive act by Congress.” Last week, to the great shame of this House,” Nadler said from the floor on September 25, “we passed a Bill of Attainder.” Whatever infractions Acorn may be guilty of, Nadler said, “it ought to be vetted or sanctioned by the appropriate administrative agency or by the judiciary. But Congress must not be in the business of punishing individual organizations or people without trial. This morning in Nadler’s committee, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) brought up the issue of the need for a full congressional investigation of ACORN. King Reminded Nadler that he said he would consider an investigation as soon as he saw credible evidence of ACORN wrongdoing. Nadler of course stonewalled. http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2009/12/congressman-nadler-still-shows-acorn.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+YidWithLid+%28YID+With+LID%29

As struggling communities throughout the country wait for more help from the $787 billion stimulus package, one region is already basking in its largess: the government-contractor nexus that is metropolitan Washington. Reports from stimulus recipients show that a sizable sum has gone to federal contractors in the Washington area who are helping implement the initiative — in effect, they are being paid a hefty slice of the money to help spend the rest of it. The contractors’ work hardly differs from the basic operations of the federal departments hiring them. The Energy Department is paying Technology & Management Services, a Gaithersburg firm, $6.9 million to review applications for renewable energy loan guarantees. The Department of Homeland Security awarded Deloitte Consulting’s Arlington branch $8.6 million to provide “program management and support” for the stimulus plan’s $1 billion airport security initiative, and gave McKing Consulting, a Fairfax firm, a $1.5 million contract to review applications for fire department construction funding. The reliance on contractors runs counter to the Obama administration’s vow to reverse the decades-long trend of privatizing government, which accelerated under President George W. Bush. The government is growing — it has added 13,000 employees in the Washington area in the past year, the first increase since the 1970s. Contractors are benefiting from both pressures — the government is hiring them to help with purchasing as well as with spending oversight… http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/02/AR2009120204185_pf.html

Obama cancelled the National Day of Prayer service traditionally held at the Whitehouse. Now this. The Islamic Prayer Day last week at the Whitehouse.
For Obama to continue as our President is an insult to our founding fathers (and to all Americans). If you do not yet understand that he is more sympathetic to Muslims than Christianity, you are hopelessly uniformed. If you question the impact of the above picture, I would suggest you read The Sword of the Prophet by Serge Trifkovic. It is well researched and documented.
