We had a very good turnout in front of Senator Nelson’s office on december 16th. The last count I received was close to 70.
And when it came time for people to start dying, what a terrific job. I expected seven or eight people to die, but we had close to twenty deaths because of government-run heath care rationing.
One lady told me afterwards that she thought Julia Roberts had actually fainted…………It was that realistic. But then, when other people started going down, she realized it was a skit.
Unfortunately, the television stations did not make it. I’m sure if ACORN had staged a protest, they would have been there. Oh well. The Fort Myers News Press had a camera man and a reporter. Look for the story in tomorrow’s News Press.
We were able to film the event ourselves and take many pictures of the dead people. Cheryl said she is going to put it on YouTube. Please send me your pictures, so I can forward them onto those who were not able to be there.
Again, our work is only beginning with the 2010 election cycle right around the corner. Our goal………”vote them out”………and get people elected who share the Tea Party ideals.

It was announced last Thursday afternoon that computer hackers had obtained 160 megabytes of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in England. Those e-mails involved communication among many scientific researchers and policy advocates with similar ideological positions all across the world. Those purported authorities were brazenly discussing the destruction and hiding of data that did not support global-warming claims.
The degree to which the CRU, United Nations IPCC and NOAH, though sloppiness, ineptitude, cherry-picking, exaggeration, deception, falsification, concealed or lost data, flawed studies and virtual fraud having become systemic and epidemic, is now beginning to surface…….thanks to the computer hacking.
What a great new day for science.

I also would like to ask you, to get every single patriot you know, to contact the major media and ask them why aren’t they covering the Continental Congress 2009. Tell them that you are watching the live web broadcast, and they are not living up to their civil responsibility of exercizing the right to a free press. Please tell the “Can You Hear Us now” to spread the word. Please make phone calls all week. I am trusting that you will get the job done to make this viral. We are forming the plans to save America, and Americans need to know that plan.

Hi all,
To quote someone I remember fondly: “It’s morning in America again!”
Last night I went to a fundraising dinner for Marco Rubio on Sanibel. It
was the most uplifiting, fun time I have had in a long time. For one
thing, it is exhilarating to be in the company of like-minded
conservative political animals. For another, to see and hear a candidate
who is a down-home, real person, to hear him talk about our founding, his
background, how he began stuffing envelopes for Republican candidates and
ended up being speaker of the Florida legislature, is an inspiring story.
One thing that has strengthened the fiber of our country is the awareness
that anyone who is willing to apply themselves and work hard can achieve
their dreams. That is what we all want for our kids, for the next
generation. What is happening in the political landscape today is the
antithesis of that American dream- we have a marxist leader who wants to
control what industries or companies fail, and who to bail out with our
tax dollars (or money he has printed in the basement of the White House).
He wants to dictate how much CEO’s can make. He wants to control the
insurance industry, the mortgage industry, banking, and now the most
recent nail in the coffin of America: our health care-how much doctors
can make, what treatment you can get. Anyone who is not brain dead knows
by now that there will be rationing, elderly will be disallowed
procedures that are both life extending and palliative in the face of
disease (pacemakers will be heavily taxed), and Pelosi’s bill actually
says if you do not purchase government approved health insurance, you
will have a steep fine and up to a year in prison!!!
This is why we need someone like Marco Rubio in Washington, in the
Senate. We conservatives have not had someone representing us in the
Senate for a long time. Mel Martinez was so pro-illegal alien there was a
total disconnect with his constituents early in his unfinished term. I
believe Marco Rubio has the courage of his convictions, that he will
inspire elected Republicans who have exhibited less backbone, and there
is no limit to what he can achieve. I was inspired and encouraged by him
and his words last night; I came away with a stack of fliers for the
uninformed and a few bumper stickers to give supporters, and I will
continue to talk to people about Rubio everywhere I go: beauty shop,
grocery store, doctor’s offices, etc. I encourage you to do likewise as
we all meet different people and that will increase awareness of Rubio
more efficiently. His website has some very good information and I
encourage you to check it periodically to get updates on his campaign. I
especially found informative the page which refutes incorrect claims
about Rubio’s positions (mostly levied by narci-crist supporters)

fight, and I do not think he will fight fairly, but I believe he will go
down next August. Intelligent conservatives have the discernment to
recognize the real deal when they see it. Marco Rubio is the real deal.

Mandy Connell was the “MC” at the dinner last night; this morning on her
show during the 7 am hour she had a good overview about why she will
enthusiastically vote for Marco Rubio, and she is right: It is wonderful
to be able to vote FOR someone, instead of voting against the “lesser of

Yes, it was an eloquent speech, but I waited anxiously and was hoping President Obama would acknowledge the distressing event at Fort Hood as an act of terror. I heard words like “gunman,” “the killer,” and “these acts,” but sadly, words like “terrorism” and “Muslim terrorist,” never showed up on Obama’s teleprompter.
Yes, the tone of the speech reflected genuine concern for the victims and their families, but as millions watched the memorial service, political correctness was further cemented into our culture.
It is clear to many that the devastating effect of political correctness was responsible for the murder of thirteen American soldiers in the name of Allah. It was the act of a Muslim terrorist, associated with radical, extremist Islamist ideology. Red flags regarding Hasan were everywhere and his military career should have been cut short. Tragically, people in leadership positions ignored them due to political correctness.
President Obama went out of his way to placate the Muslim world and it looks like this will be a policy set in stone throughout his term. However, it is time for Americans to wake up to the fact that political correctness will allow other Muslim terrorists to organize, plan and execute another jihad against the United States within our borders. We need to take off our blinders and not be afraid to recognize and identify who our enemy is.

I just got back from Arcadia. Great event! I met the organizer, who was the person you might have heard on Mandy this morning. He did a wonderful job of organizing this Tea Party. There were over 500 people, all with great signs. Most of them were from the Punta Gorda area, but Naples was well represented. We had at least 50 people there. The presidential motorcade drove right by us. Many of the vehicles had their windows rolled down in order to get a better view. However, I doubt Obama was in the motorcade, as we saw a helicopter fly over us prior to the motorcade driving by. I think it was mostly staff and reporters that we saw. That’s OK……….we were there….we were chanting Tea Party slogans…..we were loud…….we made our voices heard. WINK News was the only TV station that showed up at the protest site, so we should be able to see their coverage on tonight’s news. Naples Daily News also had a reporter there. See you at the next event.

To all Naples Tea Party Patriots…………
First, I’m sorry about the very late action alert in front of the Naples OFA Headquarters. I did not become aware of their plans until 2:00 and debated whether or not to organize an event on such short notice. As it turned out, many did respond and we had a lively demonstration complete with local television coverage. Thanks to those who made it, but with that said, it is perfectly understandable for those who could not.
We’ve had a bit of a lull since 9-12, but there is a lot going on in the next couple of months. Don’t forget this coming Monday night at the VFW at 7:00. Tom has a short film and there will be some discussion regarding upcoming events, including the Tea Party Express event in Orlando on November the 11th. Our bus tour plans for that event will be a main topic of discussion.
Next Saturday, November 17th, is a national day set aside for the “Can You Hear Us Now” Tea Party movement. As stated so eloquently on the local Save America web-site………..
“The ObamaMedia ignored your Washington voice on 9/12 not only nationally……. yet here locally. Perhaps they’re fearful if the message gets out to all Americans that we stand together and we are not alone, they’d have to acknowledge us.”

It has been decided to hold a Naples Tea Party rally in front of the NBC2 television studio of WBBH in Fort Myers at 3:00 on Saturday, October 17th. The address is 3719 Central Avenue, which is just north off Winkler Avenue. Winkler runs east-west and is on the north side of Edison Mall.
There are two main reasons for selecting NBC. They have consistently displayed a lack of interest in reporting our local Tea Party events and along side CNN, have been in the forefront of denigrating the grassroots Tea Party movement with the likes of Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews. As usual, NBC2 was the only local television station to ignore our demonstration the other evening in front of the Naples OFA headquarters.
So, get your signs prepared and let’s all meet in front of the NBC2 studio next Saturday at 3:00 Remember, the theme is “Can You Hear Us Now” and is designed to call attention to the mainstream television media and their biased reporting and lack of understanding of what the grassroots Tea Party movement is all about. As usual, Barb and Jim Clinton at “Signs To Go” have a wide variety of ideas for signs. You can reach them at 598-2205.
The SW Florida 9-12 Project has several events scheduled during the week. Many of us will be on the corner of Pine Ridge and Airport Roads handing out educational flyers on Wednesday the 14th at 11:30. If you have the time, stop by and help out on that date and location. You can also call Janet Jones at 734-4444 for additional days during the week to participate if Wednesday is not a good day for you.
One Nation Under God and Bob Brown have several things going on, including an emergency road trip to Orlando on Tuesday, October the 13th regarding the court hearing deciding the fate of Rifqa Bary. Rifqa Bary is the 17 year old girl, from Sri Lanka, who is running for her life from her Islamic family which wants to kill her if she will not renounce her newfound Christian faith.
Remember the great results the last time Bob put together a caravan to Pensacola? Two teachers were spared jail for reciting a simple prayer (after asked to do so) in school when no children were present. The convoy will meet at Bob Evans on Immokalee RD. and I-75 for breakfast at 8:00 and depart for Orlando at 9:00. Please call Bob at 877-8043 for further information.
October and November promise to be busy and rewarding months for Naples Tea Partiers. A sneak preview of November will find the week of the 16th very active. Mark your calendar now to join the Council For Constitutional Principles when it holds a meeting on Monday the 16th. Marco Rubio will be the featured speaker and will take the time to hold a question and answer session. During the same week, Robert Levy, the Chairman of the Cato Institute, will be our featured speaker on Thursday the 19th. More details will be forthcoming, but plan on listening to these two important political figures.
Government health care and Cap-and-Trade will continue to make the headlines and be the lead stories on television and radio news outlets. Don’t let up……….continue with the letter writing and phone calls.

Within this health care reform is a $500 billion dollar reduction in expected Medicare payments to physicians. Make no mistake, services that were promised will not be provided to the aged. All the while this administration continues to underwrite failed business plans, reckless risk assumption and provide stimulus to non producers at the expense of taxpayers while the Federal Reserve holds interest rates at zero thereby providing no safe return to elderly savers while next year’s social security recipients will not receive an increase. This administration along with its cronies in Congress are attempting to finance today’s and tomorrow’s budget problems on the backs of the aged and if the aged don’t voice their outrage, it will only get worse. Don’t believe AARP, this plan will result in a lesser number of practicing physicians, (doctors will just stop practicing), an increased pool of those “insured” with a resulting rationing of medical services. Our medical colleges do not currently produce enough physicians (we import them) that imbalance will only get worse. Medical reform is necessary, but what is being proposed is a charade foisted on the backs of retirees. Don’t sit back and accept it. It’s not too late. Sincerely, JP

To all Tea Party Patriots………..
We must not let the dust settle and think the march on Washington, coupled with all the other Tea Parties around the country on 9-12, had any influence on our elected representatives.
In fact, Obama and the servile mainstream media all but laughed at the events on 9-12. Congress is now gearing up for the “nuclear option” in passing the health care bill, thereby eliminating the need for any Republican support.
One of our Tea Party members had this to say in a letter written to Senator Nelson.
“Dear Senator Nelson,
Again you have disappointed me. You say you want to know what the sentiment of the INFORMED people is concerning Health Care Reform. Yet when it came time to give us the information we need; You voted to make a summary available on the Internet of the Health Care bill to make that informed decision. Shame, Shame, on you. Are you that afraid to put the full text of it on the Internet?
What are you legislators trying to hide? Do you think we are that dumb? Or are you all that corrupt that you are afraid we might find something in it that might put you all in jail? PUT THE FULL TEXT ON THE BLEEPEN INTERNET AND STOP JERKING US AROUND.”
This is what we are fighting. A mentality that we as a nation will no longer be able to hold those in power accountable to whom they have power over. What then is the nature of our government when they have no fear of accountability?

Tom Macchia and I are working on putting together a bus tour, complete with hotel accommodations, for those not wishing to drive. The bus would leave Naples on Tuesday, November 10th for the trip to Orlando where we will spend the night. On the 11th, which also happens to be Veterans Day, we will be driven to the rally and participate in the Tea Party. We will return back to Naples that same day at the conclusion of the rally.
The cost for the bus will be around $50 per person if we fill it, plus a little extra for a tip. The hotel cost has not been determined yet, as we are still working out the details for a large group discount. Hopefully, it will be a reasonable price under $100. The only other cost would be for meals.

Defend America……….I hear you. After attending the the “coffee” session tonight that the Naples Daily News hosted, I can report those people are completely clueless.
The person representing the NDN was there to promote the “community” section of the newspaper and expected the community to supply the material and photos for a story.
When we asked where the editorial and news content staff was, we were told they decided not to attend. You can imagine what happened next. Things quickly deteriorated and it became like a Town Hall meeting atmosphere with raised voices asking questions, but not receiving any answers.
So, it appears the NDN idea of improving their newspaper is to supply them with enough material and photos to write features about the “bird watchers’ paradise in Longshore Lake,” and “capturing lightening.”
Personally, I’m more interested in the front page headlines that I do not see in the NDN, but hear on FOX News……things like the endless corruption at ACORN……..and the refusal of those on the NDN editorial staff to acknowledge anything which counters Obama and his policies, or those who surround him.
Unfortunately, I did not witness anything tonight that would indicate a change at the first “Coffee and Community” meetup.
Many patriots attending the Naples 9-12 Tea Party were angered by the lack of media coverage, particularly by the Naples Daily News. Since the Naples Daily News chose to endorse and promote President Obama we should respond in kind and boycott the paper just like they are boycotting our movement…To ignore more than 50% of their readers is a subscription for their own demise…We have alternate media to get our message out making the paper more insignificant…

One week to go! This time next week, the news media will be talking about all the Tea Parties across the country. Ready for this………..the New York Times said this today:
” A demonstration against government spending and socialized health care planned for September 12 in Washington could be the largest gathering of fiscal conservatives ever.”
Can you believe that……….”fiscal conservatives” instead of an angry right-wing racist mob? Take that Communist News Network………CNN.
Let’s not let up this week. In fact, make this final push promoting the 9-12 Naples Tea Party count. Teams have handed out thousands of flyers from Naples to Fort Myers to Cape Coral. We have registered the event in all the local newspapers and Tea Party web-sites, and have had Tea Party representatives interviewed on local morning talk shows. Cheryl Couture did a great job on the Bob Hardin Show the other morning.
Drew Wright has organized a Naples contingent meet-up for those going to the national Tea Party in Washington. If you missed my updates on Washington, please contact Drew at 216-1835 for details.
As of now, the Town Hall meeting regarding health care at the new Naples Daily News (On Immokalee Road) next Wednesday the 9th at 6:00 is still a go. We are still encouraging Tea Party participants to attend this event in support of Florida State Representative Matt Hudson. We will let you know early next week if anything changes.
Thanks for all your hard work these past few weeks………..sweating, swatting mosquitoes and fire ants while dodging cars handing out Tea Party flyers. Those staging the Naples Tea Party next Saturday will arrive at the site at 8:00. If anyone else would like to help out, feel free to get there early, but listen to Daniel Cook regarding parking. In fact, we could use some help directing people where and how to park, so check in with Dan.
I met with the Collier County Sheriff in charge of crowd control and told him we will honor his request for making the event safe for everyone, including the cars that pass us while honking. Any infiltrator causing deliberate disruption, or sending out the wrong message, should be reported to the sheriff. They will handle it. As always, bring your signs and have some fun at the 9-12 Tea Party, remembering to conduct yourselves according to the core values conservatives represent.

Ubiquitous Juan Williams, television contributor, is reported to have said that we now have new Founding Fathers. Anyone wonder what he meant be that? It’s clear Obama is being surrounded by radical, marxist advisors who want to “transform America.” Obama certainly is being used by those factors and I sense he has no power in the socialistic agenda other than that granted to him by the “advisors,” czars and unions, etc. This effort must be stopped if we are to preserve the country we love. It’s obvious that our president and many of our “leaders” don’t care much for the Constitution. I suggest everyone read it again. Jefferson took inspiriation from English philosopher John Locke whose “theory held that government was a contract between the governed and those governing, who derive their power solely from the consent of the governed and whose purpose it was to protect every man’s inherent right to property, life and liberty.” It is folly to believe our present administration holds those truths to be self evident.
The Declaration lists over 25 “Injuries and Ursurpations (by the King), all having direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these states.” Read the list and notice how many relate in kind to the efforts today.
These grassroots efforts must continue if we are not to lose the freedoms and liberties on which America was founded.

The SWFL 9-12 Project wil be meeting at 1st street and Pensylvania Ave. We will start staging at 7:00 a.m., just inside the west lawn under the trees. Look for the Florida Flag.
People will be free to rove around and march down Pensylvania Ave if they want to.
We chose this area do to the limited mobility of some of our members. Cheryl’s hotel is a few blocks away if people need to rehab. We will have water and Gatoraid at this staging area(Donations are welcome as Cheryl is shipping these items by UPS)
This location is also perfect for a photo of all the groups, with the Capitol just behind us.
Afterwards, we can move as a group to various sites for additional photos if decided upon. We are all wearing our 9-12 T-shirts and will be carrying signs.
As always, your groups are free to do as they please regarding the rest of the days events.

I just wanted to let everyone know that they are moving the actual start time for the March down Pennsylvania Ave. to 11:30am on 9-12. They just worked this out with the DC Metro Police. This doesn’t change things much, and just gives you all more time to gather and get organized before the March begins.
At Freedom Plaza, we will have speakers and music starting around 9:00am, which is the same time we originally planned to gather. Folks that don’t want to participate in the March, or can’t because of health conditions are encouraged to head down to the West Lawn of the Capitol building and wait for the marchers there.
As far as getting to Freedom Plaza, your best bet is to take the Metro to Federal Triangle, McPherson Square or Metro Center. Bus access to this area may be limited, so check out our guidelines for buses coming into the city.

We are another week closer to the September 12th Tea Party in Naples. The momentum continues to build, as cities both large and small continue with the grass roots movement.
I received the following inspirational e-mail from the son of a proud dad and fellow member of the Naples Tea Party faithful.
“Dad………..Just went to my 1st “tea party” today here in Jax. Man do I feel patriotic… more like I feel empowered……
They had the actual health care bill there, all typed out……. you could read sections of it and its truly scary what a power play it really ends up being by the government. Half the things I read had nothing whatsoever to do with health.
They also had sections of the cap-and-trade legislation…… amounts to nothing more than a huge tax. You never hear that temps have actually dropped 0.5 degrees C over the past 2 yrs.
Even if you believe that global warming is the result of man …… even by the governments own calculations (Waxman – Markey)…. The best we can realize, from the bill …. Is ……. Ready for it……. “The theoretical moderation of world temperature would be 0.05 degree centigrade by 2050.”
Holy Crap….. huge budget busting expenditures, increased daily cost of living increases, to pay for it, and the huge loss of US jobs…… all for a miniscule 0.05 C in the next 40 yrs!!!……. It got 0.5 degrees cooler in the past two years…. ..on its own.
And our representatives voted for that crock !!
Its things like this that are hidden in the everyday reporting of these bills…… so I am writing this email to mainly encourage all to :
Do your due diligence and dig into these bills in detail. READ them…. Know what they contain. Write, email, call and attend local town halls and tea parties…… to let your voice be heard, if you don’t agree with them. If we don’t do these things……. We might as well be stupid lemmings, lead over the cliff by whatever self-serving government official that wants to take us there
Enough of Government trying to control us…. Enough of their screwing things up and blaming us in the private sector (remember how the ball started rolling…… Fannie May …?) and enough trying to sneak crap past us…… demand transparency……”

It’s letters like this that are really encouraging. It makes me think there is hope for our county when a young man not only recognizes the destructive path for America President Obama is following, he also articulates the obvious that must be defeated.
I have received several phone calls and e-mails from the Naples area contingent heading to Washington for the national 9-12 Tea Party. There is a desire from some to meet-up somewhere the day of the event……say a pre-arranged time and place where we can get some group photos, share stories and participate in a portion of the Tea Party together.
I think it is a good idea Anyone who is going to Washington and would like to meet-up with other Naples Tea Party participants on 9-12, please contact Barry at 239-825-8164 or Dave at 239-989-9188 on the evening of 9-11. We will let you know the time and the place where we will meet on 9-12.
We can submit some photos and a story to our local newspapers when we get back. That doesn’t mean they will be published, but we can try.

To all Tea Party Patriots………
Tea Party Teams continue to promote the next major Naples Tea Party to be held on September 12th on the corner of Pine Ridge Road and US 41, starting at 10:00 and running till 12 noon.
In some cases, the teams have been large enough to hold a mini Tea Party, with some holding signs while others pass out flyers to passersby and those who stop to receive information. Great job by all those involved!

I have been informed by several people that there will be a huge push by OFA, the organizing arm of the Democrat Party, to promote government health care insurance between now and when the Congressional recess is over.
Faced with a souring public mood on health care reform, Democrats and their supporters are launching a national grassroots push this Wednesday to show lawmakers that the majority of Americans still support overhauling the system.
Reform supporters are planning to hold more than 500 events between Wednesday the 26th and when lawmakers return to Washington Sept. 8, ranging from neighborhood organized phone banks to professionally staffed rallies with hundreds of people.
We need to counter this offensive with all our might. Be alert for any town hall meetings or other organized events in our area. We might have to do some short-notice Tea Parties during the next two weeks. I will keep you informed.
Again, thanks for all your hard work keeping the grassroots Tea Party movement alive. Let’s all pitch in on this latest development and respond with our own offensive show of unity on September 12th.
